J.S. "Largemouth" Weeden "Largemouth" Weeden’s new release, Makin’ A Livin’ Fishin’, includes all original Blues dealing with controversial and newsworthy topics. A veteran of several Arkansas bands, he uses a variety of voicings on some witty lyrics to force a second listen from even the hardest of the hardcore Blues fans.
Using a new style of songwriting, J.S. gets right to the point without wasting time on hooks and needless repetition. His ability to inject a variety of voicings helps keep things interesting. J. S. has always been partial to the slapstick side of the blues, heavily influenced by the comedic talents of Louis Jordan, Wynonie Harris, Cleanhead Vinson & Howlin Wolf or the Kanas City swimming of Jay MaShann & Big Joe Turner. A veteran of several Arkanas bands, J.S. drummed behind the ABC Band, the Hometown Band, the Cranks, Cedell Davis, NUMA, the Skunk Band, John Craig’s Blues Revue and Max Taylor’s Blue Katz Revue and Max Taylor’s Blue Katz. |

Makin' A Livin' Fishin'
He produced the first album for Pool Room Music titled “John Craig & Friends”. With this new release, he pays tribute to his Mon and her love of shelling with “She Collects Sea Shells”, and exaggerates his angling expertise with the title cut, “Makin’A Livin’ Fishin’”. The fact that he is the only one, allows “Largemouth” Weeden to bill himself as The World’s Greatest Blues Singin’ Bass Fisherman! |
