Red Light GO Red Light GO are part of the new wave of electro indie rock pop. Their sound is an electric mix of soaring synths and chunky guitar melodies. The band show a real pop sensibility in their song writing, combining the best bits from the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's and produce a sound which is fresh and modern.
2005 was a good year for Red Light GO. May saw the band release their debut EP Was It You. The EP received rave reviews and featured on numerous radio shows including Pulse Radio. September saw the studio version of Take the Picture released as a digital single on Chromium Records and in November Writing on the Wall was released by Moyst Records and the band reached the semi-final of Moles Battle of the Bands competition. |

CD 1 - Red Light Go
|
Red Light Go . Bath's five piece electro indie band follow up last year' home produced EP with a debut album that doesn't sound at all home-grown. These 10 tracks show a lot of the spirit of the 80s and their prominent synthesizer sound doesn't move too far away from Gary Numan, The Cure and Depeche mode. There are chiming guitars, that typical retro glassy-sounding synth, a very fine bass, spot on drums and a singer who has the swagger of the time but also some of that robotic lack of emotion in his voice.
Red Light Go write very catchy sing-along choruses, especially Was It you and the almost punky Writing On The Wall, and their breeziness is quite infectious. They also show a degree of inventiveness although at times they could show a bit more ambition. |
