Suit of Lights

Joe Darone has been writing songs since age 10, releasing records since age 15, and touring steadily since he left high-school. His new band, Suit of Lights showcases a diverse, passionate collection of songs by a mature songwriter - a rare commodity in these days of plastic punk and artificial soul.

The band, like it's namesake (a matador's costume) hints at the duality of nature: beauty and brutality.

With a wide range of influences from Costello to Cursive, there's no way to hide the singer's penchant for heartfelt lyrics and bold melodies. The album's timeless sound was the result of a collaboration with several notable musicians, including producer Arun Venkatesh, Steve Pedulla, Evan Silverman, John Underwood, Roy Van Tassel and Jamie Egan.

Under Joe Darone's personal imprint, Visiting Hours, Suit of Lights have released a limited edition single, and a ten-song CD.

Suit of Lights

The ten-song repertoire was conceived with the song Goodbye Silk City, a tribute to Joe's father, which set the tone for this highly sentimental, cathartic, and introspective body of work.

"If there's one concept running through this record, it's about how death actually lends life some meaning, how it makes every moment important", Darone explains.
